First post! This is the best forum I have found to date for ideas and answers on what to do with my z4mc.

If I go to esstuning.com and look for the e85/6 it shows only the basic programmer and vt1-445 kit. Is the vt2-500 kit a special order item?

So far I have a custom exhaust, red coils and a k&n filter. Trying to do my research on the future upgrades

Quick overview of exhaust: right after stock headers we took the original X pipe and cut it in half and rewelded to header flanges going to into one 3", the 3" bends up and into center (around the tranny mount) and right after that it goes into a 3" resonated aeroturbine muffler, it continues out 3" to the original X pipe where it goes from 1 3" back out to original dual but straight out with no addition mufflers and it has dual tips. We eliminated the secondary cats and the stock resonator, the thing sounds sooo amazing with the aeroturbine I swear by that muffler. If I reset fuel consuption it will run about 28mpg on flat highway running 70mph. No rasp no tinny sound just the depper growl all through the RPM range.

vt2 is special order... contact them as they only supply it to certain dealers.......the install is extremely complicated to get bang on.... theyve had some serious head-aches from poor installs, and people trying to do it alone so they only do special order to certain dealers.....

be warned... make sure you have a good shop!!!

My dad ows his own shop with a lift and all the tools you would ever need. I was looking for a personal purchase, don't know what it would take for him to become authorized for one install. Maybe a promo deal to be a south texas installer for future sales yea still dreaming.

they MAY sell it to you, but im guessing they will be reluctant due to potential issues........ im sure they'll hook you up..... theyre good people but like any business they are apprehensive when it comes to potential problems, VT2 is definatly a problem if not installed correctly......

Why don't you just start out with VT1 and see how you feel about it? That way you could get everything fitted and perfect and figure out all the little issues and additions you're inevitably going to have to make.

Is there a lot of duplication between VT1 and 2 beedub? Is there any big advantage of going straight to VT2?

Thers a huge difference between the vt1 and 2 but personally i felt it best to go vt1 first.... It allowed me ages to perfect the install and learn the kit....

Vt2 is a complete different ball game in performance and install..... I would defo start with vt1 imo......

Is there a clear upgrade path from VT1 to VT2?

I'm sure its cheaper to go straight to VT2, instead of going VT1 then VT2. The install is complex, but I wouldn't say it takes forever to get it perfect.

Ess sells the upgrade, but I'm not sure what the exact cost is

Well, having gone through the upgrades of turboing my M3, I know that I would go straight to VT2.....but would need a competent shop to do the install near Louisville, KY!

Thanks, I've contacted IND in Illinois to see what they can do for me. I really love this car and will a little bit more balls, it would be exactly what I'm looking for!

if i was your side ind would be my only choice..... awesome people. i love getting stuck in on the maintenance side, this kit is really quite fun to take to bits after its all installed, ive had the supercharger off countless times.... infact its on my kitchen table as i speak.... for absolutely no other reason that im painting it black. Great fun, take a while to perfect however otherwise parts foul other parts or the thing just doesnt work properly... lol

I've been conversing with them and they sound very knowledgeable and great to work with! I'll keep you all posted. Still going to be a while, but may just happen in July!
