Cool Mounted! 19" ASA AR1 for M Coupe

Guys,

Purchased, see pictures below. Keep in mind that these wheels are just my temps until I get my BBS, HRE's, Volk, etc. Believe me, I go through wheels faster than some people change shoes, so please stop "OMG dont put those on your M, blah blah blah".

Heres the specs of the wheels purchased:
Front: 19x8.5, +40, Weight: 26.0lbs.
Rear: 19x9.5, +20, Weight: 29.1lbs.

Tires:
Front: 245/35R-19 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport XL
Rear: 275/30R-19 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport XL

Alignment to come, and I'll probably account for the drop and offset (more aggressive camber, etc.) Seeking possible alignment specifications.

I've never had a set of ASA's but I've always heard good things about their quality. IMO they look pretty similar to my RS-GTs. I think theres also a VMR rep with a similar mesh/lip look.

just for reference;

They are decent...but to be honest, i'd rather go with a set of VMR CSL's with the 10" rear. Fitment would be more aggressive and the weight might even be slightly less. They go for about $900 shipped (or a nice used set for even less). The ASA's look good, but a bit plain for my taste.

not a fan of reps... and i posted somewhere else but the ar1s are the budget bbs rims, not bad but they've been known to have issues with their clearcoat peeling.

how bout these?

+3...the Vorsteiners look pretty sick IMO.
Check out the Sponsers Area on E90POST, I'm sure you'll find a deal on a nice set of wheels...good luck

30 lb wheels = INSANITY.

ASA is a BBS knockoff, made in China, HK, or one of those countries that aren't exactly a mecca for high quality wheels. Why on earth would you want to put knockoffs on a $50k+ car? Boggles the mind. I'd far rather keep the stockers than sully my Z4M with a low-rent, boat anchor of a wheel.

BTW 1LT - thank you for your service! <<salute>>

Wouldn't forgestar F14 be a better choice for knock offs? It's a semi forge and supposed to be light weight if their numbers are not marketing hype...and it's only a few hundred more? I was thinking of these as an option...it's real nice to get expensive wheels...but then now also have to be concerned of where you take your wheels to get serviced.

I haven't had any experience with forgestars...any one else have them and liked them? I saw one member had them for few months and sold them...not sure why.

The wheels and his HR Coilovers were just installed. Pops here assisted with the installation. We started after dinner and got the job done a few minutes after 3:00 a.m. this morning. I am at the office working, and he is still at home asleep.. If it is of any consolation, the drop looks agressive and the ASA 19 inch wheels look pretty good, but there HUGE...IMHO.

The next task my son mentioned to me is a ...photoshoot

Looks good Jonathon . The rims turned out way better than I expected, especially with that drop!!!
