Peake Tool for 2008 Z4M

Has anyone tried to use the R5 FCX-3 on a 2008 Z4M?

The Peake website says it only supports up to 2007 but I am hoping the 2008 is essentially the same as 2006 and 2007 Z4Ms.

I have one and have not had any issues with using it on my 2007 M. There were no significant differences between the 2006 and 2007 as it relates to the engine and electronics so I see no issues. I recently acquired the Bav Technic product so my Peake might be for sale soon.

Last time I tried it, it didn't work on my Z4M.
Maybe they fixed it. Most of the items are not there
like the other cars.

I have the Bavarian Technic as well.. Are you able to read real time actual values from the engine? It does not work on my car or my friend's Z4m.

I've been trading emails with them trying to figure out what's wrong.

The matrix on the BT site also says that it reads the actual values for the S54 engine. However, I just went out and checked and it is not reading any of the values I checked. I need to call and harass them about this too.

Well that's not good news Ron. They are working with me on this however and in the latest email from them they would like me to try and use the MSS54 engine control unit to see if that works. I will give that a shot next week when im back home.

Update on Bavarian Technic diagnostic sofware.

The latest release of the software (1.8.5.1) is now able to read Actua Values (real-time data) from the S54 engine module!

I've been working with them over the past few months, sending them logs and they solved the software timing problem that previously prevented reading of the S54 actual values.

Good. I'll ask Alan to bring his over when he gets his new Michelins installed.

Thanks.
