Day at Monticello Motor Club

Got invited to Monticello Motor Club (private track) by a member. Talk about VIP experience. Buddy was in the E90, clearly pulls away from me each time. With my AA tune though it was nice being able to go past 7000.

Full course is over 3 miles with 19 turns, really hard to remember the layout hence hesitation on my part to go full throttle at times not knowing if a corner was coming up haha





South Course is much tighter, well suited for lower hp cars. Barely got into 4th and first time I had to drop to 2nd on a road course.

Pretty neat. Reminds me of LRP, except it seems slightly longer and less condensed. Met somebody else at WGI a couple months ago who was talking about how they spoil you at Monticello. Share some stories!

Mind you this was just from a guest perspective but start off with hot breakfast made to order, nice lounge/club house to wait in between sessions (nobody really sets up in the paddock unless your race team is working in one of the garages), cold water/beverages provided throughout the day, gourmet catered lunch, and photos taken of you and your friends that are thrown in a gift bag along with some MMC swag.

Best of all, 10 cars most on track sharing a 3.6 mile road course => no traffic

That is fantastic! Good work showcasing the Z out there. Did you feel the car was underpowered for that course?

On full course yes because they feature one of the longest straights I've seen. On the other half courses not so much, I didn't go WOT or would shift early because I had trouble remembering which corners came up next. One of my sessions I actually went 4 off because I went full throttle not realizing the hairpin was next lol.

I've run the full course in my 3.0i and thought it was a blast. Did see about 140mph at the end of the straight which is highest I've seen.
