What is this part behind my rear bumper?
I was changing my oil the other day and saw this. It looks like it might be a microphone because it's right above the exhaust but I thought the E86 didn't use that fake exhaust sound bs.

Really? That looks nothing like other ones I've replaced on other cars. Every other vehicle has it bolted to a solid piece of metal and it's much bigger.

Exactly, its the end of your 2nd FM antenna (the FM radio has 2 antenna, called antenna diversity: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antenna_diversity)

I kid you not Kashmir and Stairway we on 5 "different" FM stations here at once the other week.  (Which stinks even more as I have a killer Fisher 500B receiver at home.)Back on topic are you getting signal all the way to the receiver? The stock receiver should do a decent job tuning assuming there's signal. |
