Is this a good deal?
Hello fellow enthusiasts,
I've been seriously considering picking up this CPO 2007 Z4 coupe that was a trade in: http://www.bmwnorthwest.com/VehicleD...-WA/1623500383 It has 36K, premium and sport packages, auto, new tires, extended maintenance until mid-2013 and clean carfax (2 previous owners). It's really clean and test drove well. They are asking $27000 and they will not budge on the price. I do not know how much they paid on trade in but of course they told me that their profit margin is small, only about $800. Is this a good deal? Thanks for your wisdom. |

That seems to be the average asking price with those miles, though it's more than I'd pay for a non-M when Ms are so close in price (for example, there's a black M Coupe near me with 36k miles, asking is $28k).

$800?!? They are lying through their teeth hahah. They would never disclose what they actually paid for the car, but figure it's probably around 3 to 5 grand less than what they are offering it to you for.

Give them a few days and they'll budge.

^agree.... unless you just dont want an M for whatever reasons. If you can be patient, maybe wait until last day of the month, and show them a 24~25 bid. Good looking car though!

Good advice all. I'll wait till the end of the month. I already have a AW E90 M3 so that itch has been scratched thoroughly. I just want a cool unique fun to drive car that I can use along with the M as a commuter. Thing is, I know and work with the sister of the owner of this establishment and she said she would get me a really good deal of this particular car. Looks like not even that connection can get me a good deal from the stealership.

I think the price is WAY high for a non-M car. The car is 5yrs old and has 36K on the clock. Nothing special really. As others have said the dealer did not pay anywhere near $26,200 for this car. I wouldn't pay more than $24-25K out the door...

Yep, 24K. The price they're asking is a great deal--for them. Like you said, so much for the "connection".
Nice car to add to the stable too. |
