Should I Vinyl Wrap Coupe Roof?
Seen pics on AW and looks great but not sure if it'll look good on Ti Ag, thoughts?

Depends on the color really. The gloss 3M Di-Noc Carbon fiber looks amazing on a white car, a few buddies with 335i's have it done.

My opinion, yes
I think it will look great with gloss black. Tie into the rear window and front windshield. The side profile of the car looks better with the roof black too IMO. Not a huge fan of the vinyl CF wrap but gloss black looks great

yeah, dubsesd, that looks SICK. Dubbed, I think you do it too. Will look great with the tint and dark wheels. its almost honeybadger-esk.
funny, earlier today I was wondering about this look as I asked myself how a true CF roof would look on the car and that i'd never seen one with it. ever thought about the CF roof altogether? this is interesting: http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthre...er+roof&page=5 Last edited by gtMc; 01-14-2012 at 09:49 PM.. |

Just curious, what % tint are you running? I have 50% sides, 35 on the rear corners and hatch. I think 20% on the hatch would match even better but CCA doesn't allow dark tints for DE event which is why I went with 35% I just hope a good wrap job will look as good as your paint... |

im using 17% rear tint and 22% everywhere else. im sure you will be satisfied with the vinyl as long as its well done, but it wont be as glossy and smooth as wetsanded paint and clear. i had a wrap done for 2 days to see if i would like the look. after i was convinced i decided to paint it.

That just looks incredible. And those wheels too... the whole setup.
Good idea on the test wrap for a few days. |

I'm leaning towards wrap only b/c 1) assuming it's cheaper and 2) it's not permanent |

the paint is holding up great. no problems at all.
paint-$250 wrap-$200 (friend did it for me for 50 bucks) wrap will start to peel at corners evetually especially if its in the sun. wrap has an orange peel look to it, and marks and scratches pretty easy. once its scratched...theres nothing you can do. with paint on the other hand, you can give it a good polish or use a swirl remover to take out any marks or blemishes. i used 3 coats of clear and wetsanded after to have a really glossy black look. only drawback to paint is that is cant be removed, and must be repainted. i love the look and dont plan on going back... |

no problem. i cant see the roof costing more than 400...canadian or usd. the guy that painted mine did an awesome job. he lifted the front molding and got all the way under with the paint and taped up the underside of the rear window to leave all the hinges and body silver. looks really oem. I can get some closeups of the paint and details if you like

The look reminds me of the late model 911 Targa... Like is should be a glass panoramic roof. Nice.
