Hehe yeah, mine is a matte CF finish as opposed to gloss/clearcoat CF. I paid only $175 materials + labor + tip !

I would've gone with the real CF rooftop but couldn't find one at the time for a reasonable price. Also was turned off by the work involved. I foresaw it costing me way too much

Here's another shot I have of my wrap job. You can get a better idea of the matte finish, and barely make out the fiber details:

Wrap rhymes with crap? I'm all for them -- leaves fewer authentic originals around

[ Must say that that painted job looks quite nice from the rear - nice flow ]

So you have an authentic targa top? Or an authentic cf roof?

The whole point of the wrap is so that you can always go back to original, and to not permanently change the authentic aspects of the car.

Got some local quotes, and each shop advised me of the SAME thing, that is to stay away from gloss vinyl wrap. Apparently it scratches and peels easily. They say I should go with matte wrap, cf semi-gloss or paint (paint being the best). So back to the drawing board but now leaning towards the paint job.

Dubsesd - did you specify a particular paint color?

I used pure piano black. BMW jet black actually contains some yellow and magenta I think. My painter just used raw piano black with no color variances
