I received a Shell V-Power keychain out of the blue, in the mail on Friday. I guess it's a combo Shell/AirMiles promo. Nice little token gift.....didn't realize my monthly tankful, 7 months out of the year, was enough to put me on the radar. Thanks Shell!

pretty cool! I usually try to only put shell in my car. Is the additive stuff a sales gimmick? Probably, but it makes me feel good.

Trust me, the fuel additive stuff is not a gimmick at all. Weve come a long way even since the 70s, and innovation continues today, even in fuel additives.

Never use cheap gas in a car you want to keep!

I keep detailed gas records for all my cars. For my e90 I can point to using Shell gasoline between October 2007 to March 2013 for my daily commute (about 34,000 miles a year) equating to about $22,800 dollars of Shell gas purchases and I get bumpkiss....

Not bumpkiss.
You get the peace of mind that your gas is "Nitrogen Enriched".
And that's not just hot air.
Well ... actually ... it sorta is by definition.

With the atmosphere being about 77% nitrogen I have also been going with a "nitrogen enriched intake" for a while now.

I buy Shell gas as well as other brands but I think the idea of adding nitrogen to gas is all marketing.

I used to buy only Shell, but then I read about fuel and how different brands use different additives and each can cause build-up/deposits. The recommendation from most experts is to not fill at the same brand, but to fill up a different brands to avoid the build up.

Not so much should I be using Shell or Sunoco or ?, the real question is...am I using a "Top Tier" retailer's gasoline?

The list of who are the "Top Tier" gasoline retailers:

People dont know anything about chemistry. It is marketing to just say nitrogen but obviously they arent talking about gaseous nitrogen. The new additive contains nitrogen and is a lot more effective.

How do you know it is a lot more effective?
