FS: 3.0I to 3.0SI brake convertion

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
SOLD

hello im selling my never used brake convertion for my 2006 3.0I, decided to go BBK

it will convert any z4 from 2003 to 2008 to SI 325mm rotor size, so any 2.5I to 3.0I can use this convertion to upsize their brakes to look like the SI and perform like the SI braking wise.

3.0I has a 300mm rotor so with this you will go with a 325mm rotor.

2.5I has a 286mm rotor so you guys have a lot to gain with this.

the calipers will come with carriers so they are just bolt on, and all you need to do is get the rotor of your choice.

what im selling is two new SI calipers with carriers ready to go.

and two brand new SI O.E.M dust sheilds for behind the rotor.

all you need to get would be the pad of your choice and the rotor of your choice slotted or drilled or just plain.

$200 for the calipers and the dust sheild's.
again parts were never mounted and are new.

Do the bigger brakes move the bias forward? Any way to increase the size of the rear brakes as well (like by putting the old fronts on the rear)? Sorry I'm not much of a brake guy, but I'm considering some power adders for my 3.0i that needs new rotors anyway... would love to get out for $200.

Edit: Did a little more digging, and the rears are already 294 mm. 330i rears are 320 mm. GLWS OP!

here is a link to the brake convertion chart.

http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=436574

our rear brakes on the "I" are the same size of those on the "si" by going this route you will have the same front brakes that are on the "SI" so you will gain brake performance without affecting handling, to keep the ratio the same on your "I" you can later change the rear setup with calipers and rotors for a 330I and go much bigger all around, but changing just the fronts will not negativly affect your brake bias as you will be running the same brake pakage as the "SI".

but again all this is explained in the link.

Maybe I'm explaining myself wrong.

Our z4 I's have the same rear rotor size as a z4 Si but the Z4 I has smaller front rotors, what I'm selling brings the front rotors to Si size as its stock Si parts.

If you want to keep the ratio the same as the I front to back but want to go bigger you simply put 330i rear calipers and rotors on the rear.

So what I'm selling will not impact the car in any negative way you will be running the same front and rear size rotors as a Z4 si vs. The smaller front rotors in the "I"
