Adding Gauges
Okay, I've searched and searched but cannot find a thread that says anything about a gauge pod to replace the Z4 ashtray. Does one exist? I've looked all over the internet and talked with the guys at Turner, but have come up empty. I really would like to add an oil pressure and water temperature gauge without sticking stuff in the side air vents, or doing anything that does not look like a factory setup. Can anybody help?
Thanks, Ken |

There were two gauge pod designs, one from iND and the other from Leather Z IIRC. Both are discontinued. I had the iND pod, but when I found out how much of the interior had to be taken apart (including expensive parts with a high probability of breaking, like the knee pads), I sold it.
Radar-mirror.com is another source for gauges.

I'll just leave this here... again..
Analogue vdo. Made my own with fiberglass, there a few pics of the build up on my build thread, but most of the early pics are on crapbucket. I'll need to fix those dead pics. But you get the picture. Cheers

Not exactly what you asked... but my solution was located in that general area.

Here is a picture of my setup. I believe it is the LeatherZ version. The only downside is that it requires relocation of the cigarette lighter adjacent to the AUX and then you can only fit smaller power adapters in that space.

Many thanks for the pics and information guys. I suppose I should just be happy with idiot lights, but one could be excused for thinking that a high performance car designed by the division charged with creating the best the company can offer would see some value in the information provided by a quick glance at a gauge rather than waiting until something gets bad enough for a light to come on.

A far less elegant solution, but works well and takes only minutes to install:
