Wicked weird windshield washer worriment...

Ok, so I brought my car to my mechanic a few days ago for an oil change.

In the morning, I had to clear off some dust so I used my windshield fluid spray. No problems at all.

I pick the car up and my mechanic says I may have a cracked reservoir or loose hose since it completely spilled out.

So I bring the car back to my garage to fill it up to see what's going on. 1/4 full, no problem. 1/2 full, no problem. 3/4 full, no problem. 7/8 full...WOOSH!

ALL of the washer fluid drains completely from the reservoir.

Tried it again. Same result.

It's fine until the last few moments near the top and then it will completely drain itself to nothing. Tried it twice already.

Everything seems connected and no cracks.

Any ideas? Anyone ever heard of this?

I didn't bother to diagnose my washer fluid tank, but it's had what I think is a leak for over a year now. If I need to clean the windshield now, I just go to a nearby gas station and borrow their squeegee

Mine has on occasion had all of the fluid dissapear as well. I could never find the source of the leak and it doesn't always happen, so...no help I guess.

I used to have this happen due to siphoning through a leaky headlight washer unit, fixed the problem by disconnecting the tube for the headlight washers near the reservoir and plugged the connections. Also pulled the fuse for the headlight washer pump.

Yup...
Sounds like a siphoning issue.

I pulled out my headlight hoses a long time ago.
This winter the bumper holes are getting filled.
