My farewell

The car is sadly being parted out and sold stock....a sad day indeed.

I loved this car and enjoyed every second in it!

I know the car isn't everyone's taste, but I didn't buy the car to track it.

Anyways here's the last pictures of it before I took everything off!

Also, thanks to anyone who helped me along the way, great forum.

Gonna miss you around here Stefan! Always loved your car and also your E46.. Hope you get your E30 instead of the E90, but I don't really care; either will be awesome.

Good luck and pop in to say hello every now and then! You can keep selling us wheels if you want

Beautiful car. It's a shame it's being parted out. I'm sure there's someone out there who will enjoy it and love it in its current state.

When selling a car, do you really lose out that much if you leave mods on?

I hope it goes to an enthusiast who will care for it. It's sad thinking that some of these gorgeous cars I've drooled over might soon be abused and left for junk.

Leaving mods on a car is asking for vultures to circle around it. You paid near MSRP for all those mods (maybe some of them were used parts) but the vultures will claim mods "de-value" the car. Maybe you're lucky and find an enthusiast willing to pay for the entire package but most times you'll still make more parting out despite the time/money spent on doing so. Especially when it's easy bolt-on stuff like wheels, strut bar, exhaust, etc. Would I bother removing a short shifter, probably not.

I agree and also think the more custom the more difficult it is to find someone that likes (and is willing to pay for) what you purchased and installed. As an example (nothing to do with this car) if I was looking to buy I might consider the wheels ok but not great so add $500 to what I am willing to pay (even though they are worth a huge amount more to someone else) but I don't like the exhaust so take off $700 for what I am willing to pay.

I keep my stock parts for this reason especially when they aren't worth much if you try to sell them.

exactly right!

I always mod my cars keeping all of the stock parts, so god forbid the car was totaled (happened to my last car) or if I wanted to sell quickly, I could do so without losing much money!

It also helps to buy quality parts that people want to buy so they sell quickly.

Just have to take the headers off and she's bone stock again (minus the black roof vinyl) but I think I'll keep it on.
