NorCal Sightings Thread

New thread for sightings in Norcal....

Today I saw to ZMs. A Z4MR ("new") and an über rare Hellrot Z3M. Both at EuroSunday at the Pavillions in Sacramento. I was there from 7:30AM to 10:00AM (had the only black Cayman S there) but despite keeping my eyes open and staying pretty close to these two cars I never got to meet the owners! Did these belong to anyone here?

I'm usually at EuroSunday (Skelekitty too with the Z4M, but she missed today), which is the 4th Sunday of each month. Typically lots of car people of all ages, and typically a fun drive after the show and shine. There were a good 150 cars there today...some highlights (in addition the ZMs):
  • A bunch of GT3s, Turbos, and assorted 911 variants, and two 914s
  • Ferrari 355, 360, 430, etc.
  • Plenty of M3s, M5s, 2002s, etc and 1 sweet E30 M3
  • Vettes
  • Austin Martins
  • 4 Deloreans
  • About 20 Ducati and BMW bikes
  • Most of the Sacto valley car clubs were there
  • Other things I wasn't awake enough to remember....and unfortunately I forgot the camera and had only the Iphone ().
Next ES site TBD but I'll post it up when I get notice.

Nice! I regularly visit the Pavilion, but early Sunday mornings can be difficult after a long week.

SPOTTED Z4M Roadster going from Greenhaven to Roseville on I-5 then 80.

I gave you a thumbs up whoever you are.

I've spotted an interlagos blue Z4MC in Santa Clara before. Waved at each other, but don't know if they're on the forums

Then there were the Z4M's I met @ Laguna Seca track days.

And I'm friends with Dorifto88, who owns an IB MC and is originally from Sac, but works down here in San Jose. We meet up every now and then.

What's the diff between Hellrot Z3M and a Bright Red Z3? (was thinking Z4 not Z3), but still interested in the answer.

I think Hellrot has a slight bit of metallic flake to it, whereas the other reds are more flat colors (non-metallic).

Hellrot is a bit brighter red than Imola with a hint of orange. There is no flake (as with Imola).

I just looked over a Hellrot 1995 E31 8 series at the dealer (Niello Sacramento) yesterday. Man, what a beauty! So nice that even as a "used" car it was on the showroom floor--simply immaculate inside and out! Only 53K miles! If it had a manual I might not have been able to keep from buying it! It has the 322 hp 360 TQ M73B54 V12 It was about the same size as the E92 M3 sitting next to it, and to my eye (subjective) more exotic looking (quad exhaust, profile, etc.) Looks far more stunning in person that in the photos....

If you're downtown in Sacramento, it's well worth stopping by to see this while it lasts.

The location of EuroSunday moves month to month. Go to their website for details. It's a fun group--drives, events, and more.

Did they do a Hellrot in the 2003 Z4, or just Bright Red?
I just looked at mine compared to the one above (I'm assuming the sun roof one is Hellrot). I can see the orange in it.
In my Z4 I don't see a trace of Orange so it must be Bright Red (oh but it's stunning either way).

Skelekitty and I will be there (she with the Z4M, me with the Cayman S) running with NCRC.

OH damn! I was invited by my friend Chun (with the red Z4MR), but I told him I was probably going to pass. T-Hill is a bit far for me, at almost 3 hours drive one-way. Whereas Laguna is just over 1 hour drive for one-way.

Plus, I've already signed up for 4 other Laguna days in the next two months

Thunderhill is a bit of a stretch for me considering I'm in SD... My back is still complaining about last weekend's drive up to norcal... Hahaha!

Yeah, too far for both of you (especially cmark) unless there's some other reason to be in the area. Mfan, 4 more days at Laguna eh? I think you might just like this "track" thing...

Hahah I actually signed up for two other Laguna days, but they were canceled last minute due to low registration #'s
Otherwise I would've had 6 lined up from today onwards hehehe.

Spotted another MC (Interlagos Blue) today off of 101 and Shoreline/San Antonio. The guy perhaps works @ Intuit (makes TurboTax, QuickBooks, etc.)?
