I have clutch stops(UUC) in both my other cars and love them so I will be ordering one for roadster today. I'll have to do some extensive road testing after I get it installed

Great mod, especially if you account for the points Beta raised.
CDV delete is a great mod as well for the seasoned/experienced MT driver IMO. Another great mod (yes, I'm the transmission mount evangelist) is replacing the stock transmission mounts with Rogue Engineering Neoprene. (Can't recommend poly unless it's primarily a track car due to the NVH of poly.) This also provides a marked improvement in feel, precision, and also eliminates the tendency of the car to deny 2nd gear when downshifting from 3rd. |

Update - went for a long city drive yesterday. Plenty of stops and starts. I couldn't stop grinning about the dramatic change in shifting speed and smoothness. Sometimes it's the little things in life that bring so much pleasure.... |

I made my own for like $.50 the parts are very cheap and it is just a normal thread.
I believe I have pictures on here somewhere with a DIY.

I don't really know, and I'm not sure anyone does. Transmission mounts, SSK, all of these things help a bit. Pulling down and to the left 1st to 2nd helps a lot too. The denial issue is covered in depth in the link I posted above. |

Okay, after reading this, I'm in also. Ordered my ebay stop just a few minutes ago. Although I have to admit that I don't really see how it could change the clutch that much. But, with so many people raving about it I'll try it.
I have to admit that I never put my clutch all the way to the floor, so having a firm stopping point and shorter throw would be nice. |

Did this a while ago. Initially it was wow like what OP felt, after a few months, it just feels right and normal. I did adjust the magnet to a higher point since after a few runs, car won't start. It took 5 mins to do.
CDV removal made the clutch engagement much better. ZHP knob. shift nice and feels really great in hand. Other mod that I've done to enhance the shifter feeling is trans mount. I did the black one from RE and it felt like click-click when shifting. That wore off, too.. After a transmission flush, I installed AS SSK. Best mod for shifting feel and also installed an eBay weighted shifter since the ZHP is now too short after the SSK. Now it's a shifting heaven in the Zed. |

Yes, it's posted on the forum with pictures. Done that more than a year ago.
When the clutch stop at the preferred height, car will not start when it gets too hot. I then adjust to a lower setting to avoid that but then it barely feel like shorter travel than OE. I didn't want to chance it on an emergency situation that car won't start at the preferred height. So I adjust it to preferred stop height then move the magnet switch up by 1/8th of an inch. Never miss a beat since. |

Update from me as well...
I am sold. I love it. $10??? It is worth 10x that much as far as improvement goes. Coupled with a CDV delete and a ZHP weighted knob, shifting is bliss. |

So I ordered a clutch stop from Ebay (the one in the OP), however, I couldn't hear any click depressing the clutch when I installed it. I tried many times and couldn't hear a thing. But I installed it anyway. If I have the clutch fully depressed and I'm in 1st, it takes about 3/4" for the car to start moving. You guys think I'm safe from clutch wear/beating up the synchros?

Can't find the thread...anyone have a link to the thread on adjusting the magnetic switch? I moved my stop back down cause I'm tired of it not starting first shot but missing the clutch feel again.

What direction does the magnet have to move to make the adjustment? The write up didn't specify if it was along the length of the cylinder (front to back of car), or up/down, or away from the cylinder.
