Carly Conndcted Car
This appears to be a scam. Search Facebook. I wish I had. You place an order then never receive your blue tooth obdii adapter. I have email trail and open incidents with them where they swear that they have shipped the adapter to DHL but all DHL receive is an electronic notification of an intention to ship, Then carly ignore your mails even if you send a screen shot of a conversation with DHL and also close your tickets in their customer contact center saying the problem is solved. Beware. Don't fall for this. Do your own research.

Carly has been around a long time, definitely not a "scam". Might they be having some problems now? Sure. But they didn't show up yesterday and start taking money without delivering. Good luck getting this resolved.

You bought via FB marketplace? Just the adapter? A scam for something you can get for $10 on Amazon or is it for the software too? Maybe a fake pretending to be Carly. They have been around a long time, I have a full license, and never any problems with the company.

So you're saying you ordered off facebook and not mycarly.com ? If so, that's where you went wrong, order from the manufacturer. Then get ready to pay the annual fee every year to continue to use "their" software. |

Not a scam. But doesn't seem to be good for older BMWs. At least for me it refused to do coding / reading ext. codes on my Z. But it's working fine on 2012 128i.

Unless you're a older customer with the lifetime license. Though I can't code anything except E & F cars.

That's true... but only up until you want to add some feature to the current plan - then they will change it to subscription based Even if you cancel this new feature

For coding, I use:
I've played around with Carly and IMHO, it's just ok. Since you have to purchase their overpriced interface and pay an annual fee to keep using it, I think that's a scam, AFAIK, no other tools charge annual fees |

OBDeleven, a similar solution for VW/Audi products, now supports BMW, but also sadly does not support E-series cars. Great product, I've used it for years with my various VW's..

This is what makes me sick these days. Everything is subscription based. So you actually do not own anything anymore. Long time ago dish would give you their equipment free of charge as long as you'd pay for service. It makes me sick when manufacturers of anything are asking money for devices that require subscription for them to do what they are intended to do. Otherwise they're paper weight. As much as I can I am trying to avoid subscription based services. Just a great way to drain your wallet. A decent Autel will cost less. You can pay for upgrades but will be working if you chose not to.

It's especially stupid on a product like this (from the consumer's standpoint at least) when the way it's typically used is a few things are done initially when buying it, then it goes into a drawer and rarely gets used from then on - yet they expect you to pony up a yearly sub fee just to pull it out to pull a MIL code once in a blue moon or whatever. OBDeleven is now doing the same crap but I have a previous "Pro" version that's permanently licensed. For my M2 I use Bimmercode which is not (yet!) sold on a sub basis. Also very limited E-series support there.
