3” Exhaust with No Drone!
Loved the sound of my original setup but it had some drone around the 3200-4000. Wasn’t terrible but as I get older I find myself wanting more of a stock ride (even though the car is used for track only at this point lol). In the last 3 years, I did a lot of trial and error to find the right balance between flow and sound.
This is how it first sounded with Supersprint headers, Vibrant bottle resonator and Flowmaster Delta 40 muffler. Sounded badass but too loud for everyday driving or long drives to/from the track. This is how it sounds now. Same headers but added 100 cell cat and replaced the Vibrant with a Magnaflow oval muffler and the Delta 40 with a Hushpower This is the closest thing I’ve had to stock since buying the car 10 years ago. No drone and gives off nice growl only when you get on the gas. At speed the tone is aggressive but doesn’t ever get into territory of obnoxious nor fatiguing. For those considering 3” exhaust, you can save a lot of time and money by going with my setup if you’re looking to avoid drone while still getting the best possible performance Last edited by 3002 tii; 03-29-2018 at 08:23 PM.. |

NASA season opener today at Lime Rock, really loving the exhaust sound. Drive to/from home is drone free but it comes alive under WOT

It’s a blast, quite short so easy to learn the layout but really hard to get fast times. It’s a momentum track and comes down to who’s got bigger cojones (brake less or go flat out on the down hill).

Had everything apart when I redid my disa valves, and was going to start it then but work hasn't slowed pace so finally found a Sunday to put the intake manifold back together and brought it to an Indy nearby, should have it back later on today....and decided to add water meth kit as well
