Smashed back window
Sorry, I just have to vent about this. I had a meeting with a client who had bought a house located right by some projects (in SF, the only place people can buy "affordable" $1.5M houses is sometimes right by projects, which are everywhere in SF BTW). I looked out at my car to see that the back window was broken. Some little %#$@*!& hood rats smashed the most expensive window on my car, only to find a gym bag containing nothing of value, that they couldn't even take, because the tonneau cover was closed. It was the nicest car on the block. Car could not have been more in plain sight, parked on the corner in broad daylight, visible from all directions. I had the window replaced (only 5 were available in the US), but now I have, on what was essentially a flawless 9 year old car, a scratch and a few little dings through the paint from the glass hitting the car. I'm taking it to a detail shop to see what they can do. But just very disheartening.

And then they wonder why ...
I better stop now, before I go on a rant and get banned. Very sorry to hear about it. Hope your insurance covered most it. Good friggin luck to your client. CARS LIVES MATTER!!

WTF. Why can't people just respect other people's property?
As if the People Behaving Badly youtube videos deterred me enough from going to SF...

I can understand your anger - I would be just livid if this happened to my car. But it sounds like the damage is minimal and with a bit of TLC the car will be pristine once again. Don't let this ruin your day!
Cheers!

You are rich dude, the Politicians have been teaching people for the last 30 years to hate the Rich.

I have to say this car is one of the hardest to keep pristine. Not only does it attract a lot of attention despite being a decade old, but low ground clearance and long hood means trashed bumper or tons of stone chips that clear the hood and hit your windshield. My front windshield has at least 6 Safelite spot repair jobs. I drive my car maybe a dozen times a year when it's not being tracked and I think I incur one scratch from the normal everyday stuff. You just can't win (or us owners are extremely anal and notice every little imperfection).
