It's going to be slightly more than 1,200 euro (not sure what the conversion to USD is like at the moment) because the reinforcing will be a little bit to the cost.

The boots between the plenum and throttle bodies are $30-$40 depending on where you buy them, or the Turner kit is $100 including the clamps. So, should be no more than $200 in extra parts.

Yep - that's the one, assuming your engine is from a post October 2004 car. Otherwise, you can reuse what you already have.

I'm assuming getting this onto a 01-02 Z3M should be doable without additional parts as well?

As long as the plenum is the same part number as an E46 M3 or Z4M, then the only additional parts are still the rubber boots and plenum-side clips.

It looks to me that Z3s have the same rubber boots as the Z4, so you would need to buy the earlier M3 / CSL versions. Please doub.e check, though!

Would it be possible for them to test with an aftermarket (e.g. Eventuri) filter?

I think many would be interested to see (hear) this set up rather than the stock intake/filter.

I'm still in

Thanks - I'll add you to the list.

They were going to send me the first production model to test and I was going to try it with and without my Eventuri. That would mean waiting to hear it, though. I can't see Karbonius testing the plenum with one of their competitor's products, but you never know?

Are they still sending you the first production box i. Advance before they “mass produce”?

I'm not sure anymore - that was what I thought initially (I've been speaking with a couple of different people), but hopefully Karbonius will confirm this week.

Just found this thread and wow! Very cool idea. I have had the new to me Z4MC for 6 months and have started to tinker around.

I was looking at CSL air boxes and all the qwerks to fitting it. I do like the idea of this with an eventuri (came on the car). But after shipping, duty, and the intake boots, if I sell my eventuri and get the CSL, it's almost the same price. I guess tuning would be extra but there are cheap DIY tools to do Alpha-N.

I guess I will have to think about it, but the CSL obviously has more coolness factor for sure.

There are pros and cons for each approach, for sure.

Proper Alpha-N is not cheap, I paid 1K USD to have mine mapped, and mapping is the very reason why I am moving forward with this solution. Despite the excellent tunning, drivability is not the same as factory.

That's one of the main reasons I'm interested in this as well. I've already got an Eventuri, and with this I think it will go a great way to replicate that CSL intake sound. In addition to the fact that I should be able to remove this relatively easily when I need to get the car inspected once every two years. At the moment I'd consider the Eventuri air intake to give me perhaps between 15-30 % the sound of a true CSL airbox. I'm hoping with this as well that will go up to 60 or even 70 percent.

Another major benefit of this plenum is that it allows the MAF to remain in place, which should satisfy everyone except perhaps the CARB folks while also allowing people like pokeybritches to work their magic.

I'm in the boat of CARB, and its specifically the reason I'm going for it. Hopefully it shouldn't take me too much longer to remove and revert to stock to get the car smogged once every two years. Whereas with a CSL airbox it would be a lot more hassle.

I’m pretty sure you can add myself to the list as well. Will this air box be a one time offering or will it be included as part of their line up of products as well?

I suspect they will make it a permanent item in their lineup, but that probably does partially depend on how we go for numbers in this first run.

Shall I put you down?

Thanks - I've added you to the list!

I'm hoping to hear more from Karbonius in the next day or so regarding delivery times.

I still don't have a firm production / delivery date but I can confirm the price will be 1,280 Euro and that people will purchase directly through Karbonius's website.

Also, two reinforcement pillars have been used (just like their CSL airbox).

That means we all from list two pages before have to order directly on Karbonius Page, right?

thanks for all your work so far
