Vanos elimination kit, Achilles

Hi guys, anyone know anything about this kit?
Sooner or later my vanos will need a core exchange, and was wondering how this does the same job as the vanos?

Vanos elimination kits would be useful if you are planning to run LONG duration cams (like 304/296), and don't care about loss of low end torque.

It makes sense in race applications, as you are trying to ultimately build as reliable a motor as you can (thus eliminating possible points of failure like VANOS) while maximizing high RPM power.

for a street driven car it doesn't make too much sense given the drawbacks.

Are there any tell-tale signs of a Failing vanos?
Noise, performance change? What should I be looking / listening for?

Thanks

It also requires stand alone ecu. (but when racing one's probably using that already)

I'm pretty sure you can tune the msv70 to run with locked vanos. It has a limp mode for a vanos failure so start there. I don't think there is much a good tuner can not do with this DME.

I would not do it, cheaper to fix the vanos.
