Well, I didn't vote because I'm not a prestigous M owner but, my preference for my Z is a manual. For me, that is half the fun. I drive autos all the time, and of course one of our appartatus is a manual but so slow because of all the weight. I get my fill of all different kinds of vehicles. I've never driven one of those steptronics though. I'd like to one day, just for the experience but would never choose a manual for a roadster.
Some people don't have a choice. Thankfully I do, and I choose manual. |

Personally I will always go for the manual tranny as long as I am able to keep shifting.
I do have to confess that when watching in car videos of GT2 and above series race cars there is no way you could keep up with what they are doing with a manual. The upper end simply requires too many shifts in far too short a period of time to make rowing by hand a rational thought. But then again, I'm not driving one of those critters so I will keep on rowing
