New Z4 owner ( last thread is jacked lol )
After whoring Z4-forums and zpost for a while now, i finally purchased my '05 sterling grey metallic 3.0L z4
moving on from a S2000, wow so much more faster and more enjoyable while driving! well first mods im currently looking to be done is.. stubby antenna and cdv delete i already ordered the stubby antenna but where can i buy a replica cdv to get it replaced? CAD/US is best also as for exhaust I have yet to decide which i want to go for Stebro, dinan, any others? ZHP shiftknob, is it worth it? would i notice a difference? or mostly self preference? Think that is it for now, and i dont think theres an RPI scoop for the non-M z4 so any takes on intake system? Thanks |

Congrads on the Z, your gonna love it! These cars are handle'n MONSTERS.
I perfer the Dinan exhaust but I havent heard anyothers in person. Shift knob makes a huge difference in the feel of the car but its a personal preference type thing as far as I could tell.

oh MIKE lol i know now yea it has warranty + certified so its extra 2 years damn if only I picked up the M coupe but owner got rear-ended the day i was picking it up, so i gotta live with the 3.0 for now, Its so much more faster than the S2000, no joke hope you enjoy the M roadster tho, i test-drove a M coupe.. wow is all i gotta say its amazing! SDTopless: i want the eisanmann exhaust but cant find a clip of it, and its quad am i correct? so i need to cut some of my bumper to fit it miltek seems alrite but i wanna get myself open to more options first and for supersprint, any websites on pricing? havent heard a clip of how it sounds but heard that they are quality stuff for intake, are those proven to be good? reading a bit of heatsoak and that its worse than OEM as it doesnt breathe in cold air |

bmpdesign.com has the supersprint sport on sale for sub $500, there is also a dinan muffler for sale in the classifeds, dinan makes a 2003-2005 air inlet as well as the best intake currently available. If I had a manual I would get the whalen shift knob (but I have seen great reviews about the zhp knob) do you have the sport package?

I think both Intake and Exhaust would provide very minimal gains but if u are not looking for hp gain then its ok. I would go with supersprint exhaust cause its a lot cheaper than eisenman but obviously eisenman has better sound and quality but cost more than twice as much. Personally though i would save up for supercharger for the 3.0Z

And i believe early S2ks should be quiet a bit slower than 3.0 Z4 and Later ones should be around the same. Maybe because the S2K rev higher u think its faster but it certainly has shit torque and it is pretty hopeless towards the high end.

1. stubby antenna go here rubberized just like OEM: http://yhst-1918367471896.stores.yah...stromoans.html 2. CDV removal a must. http://store.zeckhausen.com/catalog/...roducts_id=273 3. i did DINAN for the exhaust in combination with the ram air scoop, and intake box/filter. really made a difference on the highway... the car pulled much better from 70mph on... only issue was that the exhaust did drone a bit. the ram air scoop is a very well made piece. 4. the weighted knob actually does make a difference... shifting feels better. enjoy! it's a great car! |
