Removing the Resonators?

I'm considering an exhaust mod to remove the stock resonators and replace them with a magnaflow muffler. I want to make sure that I won't trigger any kind of check engine light by doing this. Can anyone confirm that removing the two resonators in the image below will not throw a light?

Those look like cats. As long as there are no O2 sensors behind them (it looks like there aren't), you should be fine.

Those are your cats. The ones down stream at the X is your resonator.

It is good that you asked us first or you would have been screwed.

There wasn't anything plugged into them. No O2 sensor that I could see. I thought they were either resonators or secondary cats that wouldn't throw a code if removed. Am I wrong?

If your headers NA are same as M models that it wont affect you at all as long as you do not touch the headers.

Would it be possible to fit a Magnaflow muffler where the stock muffler currently sits? Most people seem to cut these two cats out and replace them with a Magnaflow.

I'm wondering if I can leave these cats alone and simply delete the resonator and replace the stock muffler with a Magnaflow. Want to make sure there is room.

This is the exact mod I want to do. I will read through the entire thread later, but just skimming it I didn't see any complaints from the owner about removing the secondary cats. Someone tell me why I shouldn't do this.
