Anyone looking for a Z4M front bumper cover?

Lucky for us one popped up on eBay. Bad news, it's a piece of crap and seller is asking for a whopping $1,350.

Needless to say I've been looking for one for a year and I expect that I'd end up repainting it, but not rebuilding it as this one needs. Lol.

Can you get one from ECS? https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/51113448817/ It's even cheaper there and it's new.

Unfortunately they’re officially discontinued from BMW. My BMW contact at the dealership searched all over US and Germany and none are left. Hence why you have the likes of this clown asking crazy money for one in horrid condition.

That's unfortunate. Downsides of an aging platform.

A whole bunch of us tentatively searching for one, wish BMW did us a favor and rebooted production of some of the older pieces.

Aging and a small production run

When I used to have my 3.0si, I stocked up on Aero bumpers (street, track, and 1 backup) lol.

Once I switched over to M, I repainted the front and slapped PPF on it in hopes it’ll stay well preserved.

Is this something that an after market manufacturer could produce?

Pretty sure someone already does. I think I’ve seen it on eBay before

I was thinking of Skyer; they have made a few after market parts for these cars. They did do two parts that attach to the left and night side of a non M bumper to sort of replicate the M look. I wasn’t personally a fan, but maybe they could consider a full M bumper, and a variation allowing non M cars to retain their fog lights.

Just throwing it out there on a snowy (make it stop!!!) Friday.

The only aftermarket bumpers worth getting are those made from PP (FRP is just a no), and even then fittment could be an issue. A bunch of us tried them on our F10s and always ran into fitment issues, leading us back to genuine BMW bumpers.

I wonder how many sad Z4M owners are out there with damaged bumpers and no solution in sight. Honestly BMW super screwed them over. At least non-M bumpers are still available (last time I checked back in October).

I just found out from a friend of mine that you can still order a brand new E39 M5 bumper from the dealer (which he just did)...but the E85 is left in the dust because of production numbers.

Sounds like an opportunity for a quality after market company to produce a quality and well fitting replacement. Although the M variant had low production numbers which limit the market, the market could potentially include non M owners who like the more aggressive look of the M.

Agreed maybe another plug to get skyer motivated since they’ve got the non M aero bumper cover already. Same with the M rear for those non Ms out there wanting to go quad exhaust but not wanting to cut a non M rear.
