07 Z4 Blackout Grill Options

Hey guys, so I'm trying to find a blackout grill for my car. Since it's a lease I want a replaceable option but I'm having a hard time finding a retailer that sells it for a reasonable amount I did find a UK seller for £39.19 for blackout and £42.76 for CF look. Quick question though are pre-06 and 06 and up grills interchangeable? If so I think that might make my search easier. Thanks

He just said it was a lease so he wanted something temporary. Personally I like the look of the stock grille

I am trying to find a grill replacement that is already black. I could easily buy a OEM pair sand it and spray it and have my stocks to swap out. But I was looking for any premade options.

Bavarian Autosport has both blackout kits and pre-painted grills.

There website is confusing and heavily overpriced; but, looks to be the only US option. I'm not sure but i think the pre-painted grill trim kit and the blackout trim kit are the same thing? Which would mean they dont care a blackout for the entire grill but just the chrome rim on the outside. I have graphite vents so I would like those black as well. I think I might have to order from out of the country.

The UK seller options are terrible. You'd be better off buying two new grilles from BMW and DIY'ing it. I think they're only $40 each anyway.

I bought the "CF" surrounds when I got my Z4. I figured if the CF looked crap then I'd spray it black. But they were really cheap nasty covers. You had to bond/glue them over the existing frames - so it's not really a temporary solution, and they won't sit as well as the standard grille surrounds because they're stuck over the top..

In the end I popped my grilles out, unclipped the surrounds and wet'n'dry'd back the chrome finish, and painted mine. Looks OEM, and cost about $10 in a can of spray paint and some sanding paper.

Oh the one I founded was not an overlay or just the grill surrounds it was the entire grill assembly in matte black.
