^You pay tax where it's registered, so unless every Canadian can afford a residence in OR, not much would change. Otherwise you are right re: tax at import.
I used to live in Seattle and Vancouver BC but moved to LA last year. Can't wait to get back to the PNW.

OP: Good setup you have. GL in your search/purchase.

So I spoke with the dealer and they really want my CPO'd Z4M Coupe. I am going to keep the Volks and let the car go with suspension and E9X 18s. They offered me $30k as is with the suspension and new E9X 18s and tires. So my car payment will be $23 dollars more a month for an E92 M3. lol its kinda worth it but still on the fence. They really wanted the OEM Z4M wheels and tires and I told them quite frankly they look like ass compared to the E9X 18s and tires and they agreed to take those instead. lol

Like I said its just a normal common plain Jane 3 series M3. Nothing fancy or rare like the Z4MC. More power and faster in a straight line with X5 interior and more comfort but I am still debating. We will see though.

But I don't, thus no tax. If I am paying close to $100 USD thats Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari F430 range/price, not BMW price...

Again, its not just Oregon at all. Its multiple states which is old news to a lot of us. Its what state you live in or country where you get taxed. Some are more FORTUNATE than others. Thats reality.

In orange county, CA, I paid around 3000 for taxes, title, and license.

Man do I wish I had a permanent residence in the Pac NW.

$30k trade in on your z4 m and the M3 priced in upper 30's? Are you sure this is legit? Both offers seem pretty distant from current market values of both vehicles.

all the more reason he should do it! should he decide to return to an e86m chassis he'll have little issue finding one at his trade in price...on that note I had a deal worked out on a cpod e90 m3 dct 38k mi for $39k and I got 26k trade on my 06 z4mr 25k mi, this was just 2 month ago

Yeah I felt the same way. I didnt think it made any sense but it is just another M3. lol Sad to say that but just like the E46 M3 and E36 M3. Just another 3 series in reality. Current market values where? I have seen Z4MC CPO'd here from $26000-$38000. The E9X M3 I have seen here and California from $38000-$68000. So yes I would do a straight trade more than likely if they wanted that but I will have to come out of pocket and I am ok with that.

The M3 is a returned lease with 45k miles. Everything so far checks out so I will check it out over the holidays as I am heading down to San Diego and Vegas for some vacation.

True that. Just like the E46 M3, the prices are going to go south in a year or so and dont be surprised if you see an E9X M3 in the mid to high $20000's.
