Looks like you owned RPIs and Rogues at the same time. How would you compare them to each other?

Yes, here recently I have had several sets to compare. Sort of doing my own comparison/testing to figure out where I want to end up when building an electronically valves system.

I had the following axle back exhaust systems + eventuri intake on my otherwise stock (when it comes to engine and exhaust) M coupe:
-RPI
-Rogue Diablo
-Stromung
-Super Sprint power loop

Above I listed these in order of loudest to most mellow.

In the end, I am going to attempt to put something together can switch back and forth from RPI to SS power loop characteristics at the push of a button.

Comparing Rogue and RPI:
RPI is the lightest loudest, has the most exotic tones, best burbles and pops when down shifting and in my opinion is the best Motorsport exhaust sound I have heard coming from an S54. That being said, it is LOUD and has the most drone. Great fit and finish, & best tip design to compliment the curve of the rear bumper. Perfect for track days, too loud to daily commute for most people.

I consider the Rogues to be similar characteristic to RPI, but tamed down by 20% in all categories. They are a good middle ground between the RPI and Stromung. Less volume drone and raw Motorsport sound than RPI, more volume, drone and raw Motorsport sound than Stromung. Best build and weld quality of the bunch. Garage art really, and I love that they emboss their logos into the mufflers.

Thanks for the detailed write up. I am very interested in what you will come up with in terms of an electronic cut off valve. This is something I looked into years ago but decided against it due to the level of effort at the time. Good luck with it and bump for a solid seller!!

I added about 8 pounds (1 roll) of sound proofing in my trunk, under the carpets, and it eliminated 95% of the drone, knocked down the volume inside the car, and still sounds great. Cost: $25 and an afternoon. Don't let the sound scare you, this is the best exhaust ever.

Oh and it saves something like 35-40 pounds. So after after adding sound insulation you've still got a 25 pound+ weight savings.

Agreed, this does help to tame the RPI's while still saving weight overall.

Thanks for the bump!
