Talking EC-7s went on

Finally got my EC-7s installed after a very long wait since ordering.
I loved my old ARC-8s but always wished the fronts were more concave and the Hyperblack finish was darker and less ... silver.

The EC-7s are 18x9 ET31 fronts (PROFILE 2) and 18x10 ET25 rears (PROFILE 3)
Tires are Hankook Ventus V12 K110 245/40R18 and 275/35R18.

I am lowered on H&R Springs and installed the camber shim kit from turner and pulled the pins - no rubbing at all front or rear.

Looks awesome! I love the profile of those Hankooks. Which company did you buy your rim and tire package?

Rims came direct from APEX - through the group buy and tires I bought a while back from Tirerack.

Looks great, but I would not recommend those tires. They didn't give me enough traction and the sidewalls felt like jello after getting worked up through some corners

Yes the sidewalls are very soft so I have run slightly higher PSI, but for day to day commuting it makes the ride a bit more comfortable. If I was doing serious tracking I would probably consider something more aggressive as well.

Also, thanks to the tread pattern (Directional only - not Outside/Inside) I can rotate them left to right when I start seeing signs of camber wear. And considering the price I still think it is good bang for the buck.

for sure. i had them on my lexus IS lowered on 19's and they were a very comfortable tire. i actually found they were weak under braking the most. the car would feel unpredictable and shimmy left and right under hard braking, and i was running 42psi in them at one point to try and get rid of that feeling. your car looks great regardless, and the black wheels look much more agressive with your setup than the older hypersilver wheels

Thanks for the awesome pictures. You're making me wanting new shoes

Sorry for turning this into a tire thread, but just curious as to why you picked this Hankook V12 over the Continental DW or Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position when all of these are priced similarly? I'm seeing a trend that lots of people going with the Hankook over the Continental & Bridgestone, but not quite sure why.

I've had PS2s and Conti DWs before the Hankooks and for the type of driving I've done so far they work just fine and they have great treadlife. The Contis were extremely good in the wet though I do remember that.

One of the big reasons for me as well was being able to rotate the tires inside to outside to get more life out of it after it starts to camber wear. I know for the PS2, DW and S-04 this cannot be done since they are "inside/outside" and not "directional" only tires.

wheels look awesome and these sizes "seem" to be rub free.... but what i dont get, is you got rub with your e92 18s that were less aggressive??

secondly im wondering how the front clearance will be with a coilover equip car, my car has a et 34 on an 8.5" wide rim and i only have 4mm clearance between the rim and the perch on my clubsports...... im wondering if the 9" wide wheel with et 31 will make this worse, better or the same.

With the E92 wheels I had 265/40 rears - so going to 275/35 solved that issue.
As for front rub I've had the Turner camber shim kit installed and am running as much negative camber as I can, so even though the EC-7s stick out 4mm more I haven't had any rubbing.

If you ran this offset (9" ET31) on front you'd have 3mm less clearance between rim and perch theoretically compared to your current setup
