What do you think? 08 Z4MC for $29500

Working a deal on a 2008 Z4MC BLK/Dark Brown interior with 36k miles for $29500. clean car. No issues. Seems like a pretty good deal. What do you think?

That's not a horrible deal.. Where are you located?

I just bought an 07 coupe with 49k miles for 26k, no nav, black/black.. I think I got a pretty good price. There's no difference in the model years, so I don't really see the point in paying much more/less for a different model year, all comes down to condition. I really don't think that, condition being equal, that paying an extra $4k for 13k less miles is worth it.

Get the VIN number and call the BMW dealer to get all the service that was done under warranty. Should be able to verify that everything was done. According to my BMW dealer, they said they cannot print off the records but they can read them to you and you can write them down.. I don't know how much truth there is to that?

based on what little I can see here, that seems like a good deal so far. But aside from clean car/no issues, we know nothing about how it was driven/maintained, and where you are located (yes geography can matter).

Bear in mind that with so few made in 2008 vs 2007, some are willing to pay a premium for that.

A quick search of auto trader shows that there are 18 for sale and an average price of ~$30k. Most of those are 2006's and they are going for less than the 07-08's.

The only things that matter is are you happy with what you got!

Uncle Sam allows you to expense ~.50 per mile, in which case it's more than worth paying $4k for those 13,000 miles!

I paid a dealer $30k for my Z4MR with 22k miles this summer; mint condition.

Seems like a decent price to me as long as the carfax and warranty service records check out OK. Eighteen months ago, I paid $31,500 for my '07 Z4MC with 17,000 miles. I asked for the service records and the dealer reluctantly printed them out and gave them to me after first blacking out the previous owner's name. He told me he really wasn't supposed to do this.

I vote good deal if it checks out following an inspection

The bronze interior is worth a premium too IMO

I'm pretty sure he's right, and that's probably why he was reluctant (some dealers won't even give it up - I happen to have an awesome dealer and the person whom I asked for service records just happened to also drive an M coupe!)

Meaning the gov't allows you to deduct roughly .50/mile for business. So if they have established that most people incur .50/mile in expenses, that's a good barometer for what those miles should be worth.

this logic doesn't hold. The $.50/mile includes gas along with other variable maintenance cost items. The only thing that affects the value of the car is the depreciation, which is only a small portion of the allowance.
