Us Carb Filter And Sound Generator Foam
Easy to do...
Sound generator foam It sits behind air filter but in line loosen screw and wiggle off pipe. foam sits inside pull it out and put the pipe back.. No the foam does not stop gasses from entering the cabin or anything. It's just a substantial sound damper. The second air filter (restrictive but designed simply to block unspent gas from leaking out when you turn engine off) Sits over top of US car std air filters/// Just take a flat head screw driver and gently push into the crak and it will pop out easily Once it's out... Just reseal your airbox with the spring clips. Last edited by Furstration; 08-04-2007 at 04:32 PM.. |

Well...I got lazy and looked up on realoem. The intake mufflers are different and the M doesn't have a sound generator.

My mistake,
I meant that you have a lot of available modification parts versus the 06-07 3.0si... We have squat for tuning, almost no exhaust (although Supersprint have confirmed the 05 3.0 stuff works for the 3.0si) or intake... We're stuck pulling a filter and a foam bung. But the car does sound a lot better! |

sure, it's a little too much for the top-up crowd, but for top-down folks like me the foamless growl is awesome! My son was talkin to one of his buddies on the cell phone in the Z4 a few weeks ago, I busted out of 3rd with the sport button on and my son stopped talking, (his friend stopped him in mid converstation) then he said to his friend, "what?, oh THAT, that's the Z4 dude!" Later he tells me his buddy was like, "what the heck is that car your in, it sounds like a bitchin V-8 or somethin..."

I have a 07 3.0Si Roadster as well and it has it for sure. Facing the back of the car look towards the right of the engine on the firewall
