Z4MC SG Loads of mods...
Hi everyone! I have been on Uk forums for a long time but thought I would share some pictures of my car stateside!
So on to my car, it has been quite substantially upgraded from the base car that BMW came up with in 2007. Correcting most of the shortcomings often noted in the press. The car now drives smoother has no understeer and sounds absolutely amazing at full chat without being intrusive when you want to cruise on a summers eve. It also feels like the front and rear axles are now working as a team for you rather than fighting amongst themselves when you power on out of a long sweeping bend. Plus I think they have aged really well and still look fresh, considering this design is damn near as old as an E46 it looks as though its from a later generation IMHO. So to Recap the standard car comes equipped with the same S54 engine as the E46 m3 and the steering rack and brakes from the CSL. It has 343BHP weighs 1430kg and 0-60 in 5.0 dead. My car has the optional extended leather pack as well which lifts the rather plastic standard interior up to Garching standards. So onto the list of Mods over stock.. Gruppe M Stoptech trophy BBK front and rear with the 380mm upgrade (these are the best brakes you can buy for a z4 period. not to be confused with standard stoptechs, do a search for the trophys...) Ground control adjustable coilovers with adjustable top mount plates full supersprint powerloop system including the manifold genuine CSL wheels with Michelin pilot super sports wheel stud to nut conversion Some very nice interior touches with wrapping in carbon fibre and blue led illumination in the door handles and when you open the boot. Illuminated ZHP from an F10 M5. UUC lightened flywheel Rougue engineering trailing arm bush limiters turner adjustable camber arms short shift kit clutch stop sports clutch CSL shrick cams remap to 370bhp Strongstrut 3piece strutbrace stubby BMW aerial RPI scoop UUc lightened pulleys and finally some arty dusk pictures I am a bit of a old school VW nut as well and these are some of my previous money pits! Vw corrado VR6 storm: Bought when I was 19 and was a dog until I replaced pretty much every mechanical component! Audi S3: Sold the Corrado and bought an S3 and went about playing with that for a while. Here in various guises: Vw Corrado 16v Had a hankering for an old school car again so went and got another corrado! 2.0 16v this timeand ran it around for not much money because I was saving up for... VW Golf Mk2 with 4WD and Audi S3 engine! Went a bit nuts here and bought it after seeing its potential. Ended up making it a sleeper Evo killer. Vw Corrado G60. I bet you are sensing a theme here! Yeah I like corrados, someone offered me this in PX for the golf and a good deal of cash and I couldn't refuse a supercharger! Vw Corrado VR6: Having always missed the growl of my VR I needed another hit, and after my first I knew what to looked for and bagged this little beauty. and that brings me to the Z4! Who knows whats next? |

0-60 in 5 seconds flat is slow for a Z4M. They run faster than that stock. Whatever you used to time that is probably a little off. Sweet car though. I like the mods.
**Edit I just realized you were quoting the stock specs. Still a little slow most times have been noted at 4.6-4.8)**

Got my calipers back from being refurbished and managed to get them all fitted today. I will leave the joy of bleeding them for tomorrow though! I went for interlagos blue and plan on tying them into the car with more colour coded bits and pieces. |

I really like your Corrado references since I've been driving a 1990 G60 for 20 years. Can be finicky at times, but overall a great car. It's got a stage IV and worked supercharger putting out 200 whp. I'd post a pic but the body is a little rough with the original faded red paint, badly needs a respray. We never got the 16v here in the USA. A popular mod here is to put do a 16v head on the G60 block since the G60 head doesn't breath enough for a small pulley worked supercharger.
Oh, back to the Z4 content. I have a mostly bone stock Z4MC with 10k miles on it that I plan to start some mods on. |

Nice VW's! Can I play too? Here's my old Scirocco 16v, the precursor to the Corrado. Had it for 10 years before selling it in '08...

Nice, we never got the 16v in the UK. I see you have a Kamei grille as well that's a rare thing now! Not as rare as my brothers Zender Z400 bodied rocco though!

I owned that car for 10 years, sold it in 2008. It was featured in a european car article along with a buddy's Mk1 back in 2005.
