Battery Drain

I sent the car to the shop to find out about the battery drain. Turns out it is coming from the TCU (Telemetics Control Unit).

I do not use the phone via the internal Bluetooth. Can I just unplug the TCU?

Certainly worth a shot. I don't see how it could cause any serious harm.
Let us know if it lights up any warnings or anything.

There was a post ages ago about the bluetooth searching for phone if doors are unlocked. Try the lock button and check if the drain stops.

The TCU is actually waking up and draining the batter, even with the doors locked.

VERY frustrating!

My brother had the same problem, unhooked the TCU and problem solved.

The indie dealer monitored the car.... the TCU, which I do not use, was unplugged.

Problem solved.

I will most likely be selling the car an upgrading to a sDrive35is.
