Question: Will Goof Off Pro Strength Super Glue Remover dissolve the clear coat from your wheels?
Answer: YES!!!! ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH.

Tried to remove leftover wheel weight adhesives and found out the hard way. I'm guessing that one of the other Goof Off products would have been a better choice.
Pardon me while I search for paint color and wheel touch up procedures.

I did the exact same thing.
Luckily, I had a feeling it might happen, so I chose a spot deep inside the barrel to try first.

The only thing I've found so far that safely removes leftover wheel weight adhesive is fingernails.

I’ve used bug and tar remover on some of the worst adhesive residue and it came off pretty easy, didn’t see overly harsh neither

Thanks, guys. Is there an actual paint code/name for the paint on Z4 M wheels. I've seen some posts that indicate that its not the same as the non-M. My concern is that, if I give the wheel to a professional (Dent Wizard Wheel Repair in Phoenix), that they won't be able to match. Thanks, again!!

I'm used to using WD40 to lubricate stuff, but I'm just learning it's worth to clean stuff after using it successfully to clean year old ink off my whiteboard at work.
Used it again recently to clean some goo off my garage floor.

WD-40, some elbow grease, and repeated applications has worked for me for adhesive removal. I've also used citrus-based "goof off" type products in the same fashion with similar results.

I use lighter fluid. It is an amazing adhesive remover and have never seen it attack any surface.

3M Adhesive Remover in the aerosol can works great, too, and it doesn't harm paint/clearcoat. I bought it to remove a clear bra, and have been using it for all sorts of adhesive removal jobs since then. Good stuff.

Used the WD-40 to loosen the wrinkled M badge on the engine cover prior to flossing. Worked well. Thanks!!
