rear bumper poping out

Hi
The rear bumper (right side) were it meets the rear fender keeps poping out slightly, is there an easy fix for this? or would part 5 51127016078 need to be replaced!
Im wondering if someone previously took the bumper off!
Im not sure how the bumper is held in place on the part - does it clip in somehow?

Yes. Diagram #5 is the clip that holds the bumper in place. That clip is hard to install and take off though, you need to remove ~6 screws that holds the bumper down on the bottom, 3 expanding rivets on each wheel well, and 1 additional screw each on the wheel well, then the bumper basically pulls out and off straight. The clips will "release" with a loud pop.

To replace #5 on the diagram, you need to destroy the part. Break it up into little pieces then work each tab out. Then the new one slides in and clips in, make sure each "clip" snaps into the fender.

Very simple. Also, Pelican parts has a DIY on this, step by step.

FWIW I have the same issue with my rear bumper on passenger side, and replaced that #5 mount piece to try and fix it. I recall that it held for a couple weeks, then started popping out again I think it may be bumper, ymmv

Same exact happened to me yousefnjr. I replaced that part #, lasted me a good 3 weeks. Now it's starting to sag again. I'm thinking the center piece in the center of bumper also needs replacement as the weight of it is bringing the passenger side down.

I've never had my rear bumper cover off, but I've had the front off a few times.
The "receiver" is the over priced plastic piece, but the tabs that lock into it are molded into the bumper cover.
Once they wear down, not sure what you do.
