I too did the e-bay route to install interior LEDs.
I used the newer (as I understand it) 5630 bulbs and they were fine and a little bit nicer made. The only issue was with the overhead dome light bulb which needs to fit through a cutout that is just slightly too small for the 12 mm diameter 5630 bulb to fit through. I'm going to buy one of the 5050 bulbs for this with 5 LEDs per bulb (10-11 mm dia). The only other trick was installing the map light bulbs from the front and connecting them to the assembly from the rear to avoid fitting through the small opening - this doesn't work for the centre dome light because there is a plastic lens in the way... Cheap mod at basically $1 per bulb. |
