06 Z4 3.0 Si engine noise upon starting, ayone else have this problem?

I have an 06 Z4 3.0Si roadster with under 27,000 miles on it, and just got it in August this year CPO from the dealer... Now that winter is here, obviously it's cold as hell out latley and I realized when I start my car when it is cold, it makes an odd noise once the engine turns over... It sounds like a tearing noise, almost as if somebody tore a really large peice of paper into two pieces. However, no warning lights come on, and the engine runs and sounds fine after that initial noise it makes, other than that there are no problems.. Anybody else ever experience this noise, or does anybody have an idea of what it could possibly be? Thanks!

I had something similar. I would guess your starter motor is not disengaging correctly.

could be that it needs replacing, or that youre holding the key in the start position too long and its making the starter run longer than it needs to

Wow didn't even think of the starter being messed up. It's not me holding the key down I know that much, but it only happens when the car is cold, gotta get it checked out I guess, thanks for the suggestions gUys I appreciate it!!
