BMW taking the Z4 back from the trophy wife?

New Z4 dumps the retractable hard top and stiffens the body getting back to sports car status. But it's a partnership with Toyota that makes me go Hmmm.

Early reviews have been good. No 6MT or Z4M yet (if ever), though

I've now seen two articles/videos where they reported an M version would be coming. It sounds really good so far.

I've become a big fan of torque vectoring diffs. What they add to control in a corner will make anyone smile and watching the video, the new Z4 looks very composed in the corners. The downside is only offering the automatic. While I think the ZF 8spd auto is one of the very best, it still lacks the fun to drive that a manual provides. Certainly would look for an M version to correct that shortcoming.
