Aftermarket Flex disc/Guibo from Revshift....preliminary review...

So after that Bear Mountain Run on Memorial day weekend, I realized that after all the mods The new power on 57k old Flex Disc (aka: guibo) did not go over smoothly.....it gave out, so at low speed accelerations i get the vibrations.....badly.

I went searching....found something that replaces the oem F/D on the Drive shaft......I ordered it.

I will be installing it in the morning....

It looks serious...

I made a review of some sort....

Normally, this disc would add some NVH, but I see you're already running urethane motor mounts and trans mounts, so this will be a sweet addition.

the install was perfect......NVH doesnt matter when youre running RPI and headers....I love the design that they put into this......will post pics of the whole thing shortly....

I have heard about the guibo cracking on M3s but after buying one a while back the OEM piece seems pretty serious. It makes me wonder if you hanger bearing failure may have caused the guibo to crack. While the changes you made it seems would prevent any type of failures I have to wonder what it might do to other things in the case of a failure.

^incorrect, by pure namesake alone one can predict that limits over the Driveshaft bearing will be pushed to the max as soon as the "flex" disc over "flexes" from more torque than it was designed for.
I mean they didnt name the driveshaft the "flex driveshaft" they named the "flex" disc a flex disc because thats what it does....it flexes...as soon as I added headers everything went weak for the guibo (flex disc) ....So that's where rev shift comes in....no flex just go.....I just finished ripping through all the gears with dsc off on the Queensborough Bridge with no problems....I intend to drive this thing into the ground only to build it stronger.
I seriously suggest this mod to ANYONE dropping their exhaust to ddo any work ie; headers, clutch work, ssk, etc....

Revshift Replaces doubt with Polyurethane..... :-)

I decided that Revshift should rename their flex disc, instead of calling it a guibo....they should call it a Dee-BO...lol

Are you going to be going for modified half shafts too or do you think they are not as much of a problem on some of the E46M3s?

I only heard of one person having a problems with half shafts......
If I can find a pair made of some rare alien metal I might get it.
until then I dont see that being n issue.

unless of course someone else chimes in with something of note

Thanks!

What about the driveshaft support bushing mount thingy? Is that new one just another OEM one? Yours had worn out that much? ouch!

That sucks. It can't be the extra power from headers/etc. as I haven't seen any of our supercharged folks breaking it, maybe something else is going on.
