Codes thrown - Help!

Hello everyone.

So clearly my car is mad at me for selling it...it has thrown a couple codes while on the road to the new owner, driven by the new owner.

Any idea ? I am lead to believe an O2 sensor.

P2098

P2272

any help is greatly appreciated, i did do a brief search to no avail.

Just a thought, but noticed in the classified you have an AFE intake. Did you happen to clean and oil it just before sale? If so, MAF sensor may need cleaning. Hope it is something simple like that.

I'd say it's the o2 sensor, which in turn drives the mixture.

I didn't verify the website, but it says Bank 2 Sensor 2. This is the post-cat sensor on cylinder 4-6 (aft) manifold. The sensor isn't difficult to change, and I would start there.

While the O2 sensor is most likely culprit, many things can cause these codes, including:

- Pre-cat O2 sensor (controlling the fuel trims)
- MAF sensor
- Catalytic converter

I'd go with a Bosch O2 sensor (much cheaper than OEM).

So it sounds like its likely the downstream bank 2 O2 sensor. Its showing a lean fault, and that means either the wiring is faulty, there is an exhaust leak before that sensor (but after the pre-catalyst sensor) or the sensor itself is bad. the strong likelihood of all of those is the sensor itself is bad. - Trusted tech friend

Thanks for the background. I will add that to my prognosis.

I was getting similar codes long ago and found some wires pinched under the valve-cover-cover.
Right where the wires enter at the right rear and then split out under the cover to cylindrical connectors a couple run against the side of the boss with the stud.
They got up on top of the boss and were crushed. Only threw codes when it was good and hot and the insulation softened.
