I've pushed my 2008 original battery far enough and need to swap it out. Just to confirm, the ///M uses an AGM battery, not flooded, correct? If I replace it with a like-AGM I shouldn't have to reset the battery management software, correct?

thanks!

I think some have used flooded to save money, but I would stick with the AGM since it's essentially in the passenger compartment with you.
H6 is the factory size.
There's no battery management software. Just pop a new one in and go. Not Rocket Science
Make sure to remove and save the little elbow that connects the vent hose. The new one won't come with it.

Installed Napa's 9848 battery in my ///M this past weekend. Exact size of the BMW original battery that came out. Was surprised by how much corrosion was on both battery clamps, spent a good hour (went slow with lots of absorbent pads down to collect all the drips) scrubbing them with a baking soda paste and then coated them with dielectric grease. Old battery measured 11.9 volts when I pulled it out of the car. New battery measured 12.8 v. It was well past time to swap it out...
