BEWARE - Jim Blanton/Performance Gearing
FYI - Jim Blanton (Performance Gearing) is a scumbag and a crook.
I had a differential built by Jim Blanton (Performance Gearing) starting in September. I received the differential the beginning of October, installed it, and it immediately blew an output shaft seal and left my car covered in gear oil. I have been trying to resolve the issue ever since, and it has now gotten to the point where he is no longer responding (even when he was responding to emails, it would take 3-4 days minimum to hear back after every email). Searching for his phone number online, I discovered this thread: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...usiness.html#/ So it now appears that I am out over $3000, and have had a completely inoperable vehicle for 2 months! I have reached out to the M5board member to see what the latest is on his end. |

Jim Blanton has been in the industry for a while. I haven't heard much bad press. Sorry to hear about your issues.
If you've given up on Performance Gearing, you could try Thayer Motorsports to get your car back on the road. https://www.thayermotorsports.com/co...s/differential
