Vibra Technics Engine mount discounts

The Discount period is now over.

I was reading a thread on M3 Forum about these engine mounts for M3's and M Coupes/Roadsters. The people that have them installed rave about them. Here is a link to the US distributor.

http://www.vibra-technics.com/bmw/z4

Here is the thread on M3 Forum where all the information can be had:

http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=427164

Interlagos08 was able to set up a coupon code to get these mounts at a steep discount. He gave me permission to share with all of us here.

The discount is good until January 13th.
The price is $260 for a set!! shipping included. Normally they are $404 for a set.

Just send a Email to Phil at Vibratechnics (His email is vibratechnics.leic @ gmail.com) with this Code in the header
Z4M0113 Discount Buy

If you read the thread on M3F, our code is different so that Interlagos08 can track where the orders are coming from. It sounds like these would be great for FI and NA cars, also they are rebuildable. They have a street version and a race version.

Any questions can be asked on the M3F thread. All I did was get permission for us to get in on the "group buy."

Here is some info on the performance of these motor mounts:
(Comment from Vibra-Technics at Bimmerforums)
"Just to give you some background, the engine mount was originally designed to overcome the inherent weaknesses of the BMW design, mainly that the mount peels apart at the top due to tensile forces caused when the engine is on load. We developed our parts specifically to work in motorsport applications and during the development process we had parts on BMWs running in the German VLN at the Nürburgring (4 hour endurance race series) as well as the Britcar 24hr. The first mounts were supplied at the beginning of the 2010 season and to date after two full seasons racing and hundreds of hours of testing there has not been one reported mount failure. This mount is also the only aftermarket engine mount that is approved for the BMW Compact Cup series in the UK. The fast road version that you have carries over the hardware design of the motorsport part but the rubber insulator is specifically tuned to give good vibration isolation performance within the engine running range.

To answer the questions regarding the construction, the main components are machined form a 100mm billet of T6082 aluminium. The insulator is first grade vulcanised natural rubber and is completely failsafe within the mount body. The mount is also capable of being rebuilt. The weight of the mount is 750 grams against the weight of the standard mount of 800 grams."

From the Vibra-Technics website:
"Vibra-Technics have created this mount to give the “sporty” feel back to M3. It is ideal for track day cars or drivers who want a race carfeel to their road car.

The engine mount has a billet machined housing and a rubber insulator at its core. It is completely fail safe making it ideal for competition car applications. "

It has been recommended to get the road mounts unless all you do is track your car.

Email sent, thanks!
FI soon, seems like a good idea.
All my other FI cars have mounts upgraded, this time I'll replace them before they shear!

Hope they have lots of inventory

OP did you guys over their order the road or the Race sets??? The reviews are awesome, NO increase in NVH!!!! very impressive stuff, i like that they are basically rebuildable as the core can be removed from the billet outer sections!!

Sent in my fax order. If this truly has no NVH this is might be a game changer for the issues we've had with shifting. I was going to get some rogue transmission mounts, but I might wait for these guys to come out with a set.

The M3 forum organizer is recommending the road version for most people. The competition version is for track only cars (it probably will increase NVH). The street version is supposed to have NO increase in NVH.

Here is a quote from the first post of the M3 Forum thread:

"Ok guys, just finished installing these engine mounts, and completed a test drive...and survey says: I can honestly say that I have ZERO perceived increase in NVH + the drivetrain feels more direct/connected...especially between shifts! I actually just swapped mounts out about 1yr. ago, and I can still feel a difference, sooo, I would imagine if you had older/worn out motor mounts that the effects would be even greater! I would highly recommend these if you're looking for new mounts, but want something that's a step up from stock. It's not often that a product performs as advertised, but these really do!

The engine mounts came well packaged and installation was a breeze. Installation was the same as installing factory mounts, and installed height seemed similar as well...exhaust clearance is the same as before. I'll continue to drive w/these mounts and update if they're any changes."

You can see some pics of the packaging and installation pics from the first post also.

I will be ordering 'road', but I don't have the same torque to control that you do.

im going to go with the road versions, the stock ones seem to be doing ok so, im sure the road version will be more than enough...

Sadly however, the UK company just replied to me and said this isnt open to UK member as they are trying to get into the USA market...... im slightly dissappointed :-(

WTF???

I ordered road version.

I asked them about transmission mounts and this is what they had to say:

Quote:
The gearbox mount is a problem (challenge). Simple solutions don't work, as you have pointed out. What we would rather do is to make a complete crossmember with the insulator built in (we have done a similar thing with a product for the Nissan 240Z). That way we can get the characteristics we would like. Its one for next year and we would need access to a car and some parts so maybe this is one to do with the forum as you have UK members on there. If there is sufficient interest we will do it.
So beedub there might be hope for you. Maybe you can guinea pig this and they'll give you a discount on both sets of mounts for helping them out. Wonder how many people would be in for a complete crossmember, I know I would in a heartbeat. Would make the car close to perfect if we got rid of all the shifting issues.

OK.... Well beta you must be freaking supernatural, supergood guess!!!!!! WTf.... they just literally emailed and said they are going to send me both sets of mounts, race and road, i can keep both but must provide a detailed review on both back to back tests, they will also use my car to do the transmission mounts.... i did say however that MAY not be a good idea due to the extra power my car makes, they may make them over stiff, i have however agreed to send in my stock tranny mounts....

guess i'll start with the RACE set then :-) YEaaaaahhhhhaaa!!!

BTW ian, your good, they want to break the whole us, your good to go!!! NOT open to UK member however.

I did however get the GB price due to testing purposes!!! :-) yaaaaaayyyyyy

F yeah! That's great news. Even if they end up overly stiff with your heavy power if they manage to control the NVH it won't really matter. If anything it'll be better for us when the inevitable power addiction sets in

Can't wait.

Great news Beedub!

That's two right for Beta, who predicted no world ending events for the day; and got the guinea pig for UK correct too.

Dammit guys, I was going to not buy any more mods for the car this year, and now you've gone and blown it for me!

Jim, thanks for posting this and setting up a discount code for us!
