55 F here today. Which is pretty good up here in Canada this time of year.

I hope to get some more Z time between now and the end of the month when the car gets stored. Did some top-down cruising around town yesterday. Still getting lots of folks admiring the car.

Yesterday I took the Z for a short spin on a cross town highway with the sport button engaged. Note that I've only had the car up from the USA for a short while and I haven't had much time to use that feature.

So anyway, after I get up the on-ramp, there's a guy in front of me in a pick up. I says to myself "Hmm. He's going a bit slow". So, I cranked the gas pedal and passed they guy. Quite easily as you would expect. At that point I glance down at the speedo and think 'just passing 90 kph and heading rapidly for 100 kph (60 mph)', okay. But then it hits me that my speedometer is the US version and I'm going 100 mph in a 60 mph zone - with lots of speed traps!

Oops!

I'm happy the brakes are good! And wow - the Z had PLENTY of guts at that point. Cruising at 60 mph seemed awfully slow!!

Haha, yeah, it gets up there at a good pace, even without the M engine! Don't let that MPH/KPH fool you! I am sure the mounties would not take that as a good enough excuse for doing 1.6 times the speed limit!

I am putting my motorcycle away this weekend for good, I had it out last week cause it was so nice out! I just got back from a trip to Indiana for a wedding with my gf, the car rode nice as always

Oh man, interesting morning. It started raining this morning while I was lifting and on my way home I saw a motorcyclist go down. Red light popped up and his front wheel slipped to the left and he was down quicker than I knew what was happening. Luckily I was the only other person on that road at that time and I was a bit behind him. He was wearing a jacket cause it is so cold out but he was part of the 90% of Iowan cruiser riders that don't wear helmets. Luckily no major blood flow, but definitely a concussion. Yikes.

Anyway, thought I would get on and post a pic I snapped last week on my phone Just rolled 40K after 2 years and 2 months of ownership

And a truck. You forget that up in Iowa we have this thing called winter. I only get to drive my zed 8-9 months of the year usually. And some of that time I am riding my bike. I would say my car has gotten ample useage...

I am going to try and hold back a tad to extend my warranty as much as I can though... My warranty is within 10K of ending on my zed and my truck now

It was 60 F here saturday afternoon - lovely "Zedding" weather!

On Friday night my wife and I took the Zed out to supper with some friends of ours. The husband of that couple is a high ranking oficer in the local police force. So. I'm in front of them at the light in the Zed, the light turns green, and off I go at an entirely legal pace, with our friends following behind.

And then - this kid in a hopped up Acura BLOWS BY me like the Millenium Falcon making the jump to light speed. All I could do (literally!!) was laugh!

It was -21 degrees windchill this morning. WTF. Yesterday it was in the mid 30's!

Zed is officially in storage for the winter now

What is everyone getting for christmas?!? I personally have no idea what I am getting from my family. So far I have gotten a DTV antenna and some bluray movies and an Obama Chia (HAHAHA) from some friends. I got myself a nice TV and bluray player

Z4 went into storage for good about 2 weeks ago for me.
Lots of snow and rain here!
Snow, then rain, rain, then snow. SUCKS!

Dunno if I can even afford to buy myself something new for Christmas!

My Z is in storage now too, as the snow has started. The snow is not the worst problem though; the real fear is the copious quantity of road salt the city applies here - so in storage she goes.

For Christmas, I am getting a new set of OEM BMW Z4 floor mats. And come on Spring!

I have used my all weather OEM floor mats most of the time I ahve owned my car so my OWM floor mats are pristine. They are nice and I like using them in the summer more when I can actually "feel" them if you know what I mean!

Come to think of it my all weather trunk mat and all weather floor mats are probably the two best purchases I have had! My interior still looks new.
