Sport Springs and Stock struts?

Anyone with a Z4M running this setup? I just want a subtle drop and wanted to know if the stock struts are ok with H&R sport springs. Thanks

If your suspension has under 65k miles on it, ignore the bottom paragraph. H&R makes quality springs I think no one really regrets buying. I would say go for it.
If your suspension has more than 65k miles, read the bottom paragraph.

Reasons why it's not a good idea to run lowered springs on stock suspension:

- Reliability: this will shorten the shocks/struts life tremendously, as they are not designed to perform for such ride height. Which leads me to my second reason...
- Performance: Once the shock has been beaten to death the z4 turns into a civic on cut springs and blown shocks. At this point the money you spent on the springs backfired. Which leads me to my third and final reason...
- Cost: in the long run you will end up going back to either stock spring/strut setup or aftermarket shocks/struts. Just buy a nice kit that has shocks and struts that are designed for lowering springs (recommend Bilstein or Koni) along with H&R springs. Eibach too soft

Ok thanks, I have 72K miles so don't want to chance it lol. I thought maybe the factory struts on the Z4M could handle sport springs.

They can handle springs but for a short period of time. This goes to all cars, not just z4's.

If you are installing the suspension then just buy springs for now, wait till shocks give out, and then purchase aftermarket shocks. If you're not installing it, you're going to end up paying twice for install in the long run.
