I can kind of understand it. selling a car with a salvage title is really hard, its a big pain in the ass because of how many tire kickers you'll get who show up, look at the car, etc., and finally understand the title difference and then walk away. If you had the ability to cash back out and walk away just like that, it would definitely be tempting.

Of course, parting the car will make way more money. You could almost part out a good condition, clear title Z4M and make more money than selling it (almost, probably not a low mileage one though). Parting a salvage title is a no brainer if you have the time and space. All the little interior parts, plastic trim, etc. etc. really add up. That stuff costs such a fortune from the dealer that you can sell it low enough to make it compelling, but its still high enough that you're making money.

Post the engine for sale on here, bimmerforums, craigslist, etc. I posted my 2.5i and trans on all of those and it was actually a local a guy on craigslist that showed up and bought it.
