Question about Disa valve:
Is it a noise that goes away after the engine is warm?
I notice that when my n52 is cold after start up, there is a slight rattle above 1500 rpm. It goes away once the engine is warm. I know about the "ticking" issue, and the rattle I am talking about is different. There is no rattle noise evident at idle upon cold start, its only when I am driving and the rpms rise above about 1500 rpm that this rattle appears. I have heard this for a while and never thought anything of it (just normal cold operation sound) until I came across the whole DISA valve discussion. |

The obvious...Is the noise coming from the DISA valve? When it happened to my M54 X5, you can clearly hear it coming from the DISA valve even at idle.
