Did the 2003 Z4 Have Front Airbag Impact Senors?

I’ve been working some airbag issues in a badly neglected 2003 Z4.

I had to replace the main airbag SIM and have successfully flashed and recoded it to the car. After flashing and coding the SIM was then able to comunícate with the satellites and I resolved all of my codes with the exception of two new codes both relating to front impact sensors being incorrect or non functional.

After thorough searching the car, looking over realoem part numbers and downloading the 2003 wiring diagram I am still at a loss.

The wiring diagram has a notation on the wires going to the front impact sensors that says: (2004)
The required wires that state (2004) on my car do not exists coming out of the SIM module as the wiring diagram shows.

Does the 2003 system function differently than the 2004-2008 models?

I used realoem cross reference compatible SIMs with my old units part number.
