Warning!

Just wanted to make you aware of a problem I found on my car (Z4 M Coupe)that may effect the rest of you as well. Yesterday I was looking under the hood and noticed my wahers fluid jug had come a bit lose and was out of it's bottom holder, causing it to rest against one of the coolant hoses. The hose was starting to show signs of being worn out from the jug rubbing against it, might want to check yours out to make sure everything is ok.

Would anyone happen to know the part number of the hose I'm refereing to? It's the hose that is right beside the washer jug, approximately 1" in diameter going from the top of the radiator to what looks like the water pump.

Thanks!
I noticed mine seemed loose but I haven't really checked it out.

Mine is loose as well. I siphoned most of the washer fluid from it anyway so there wouldn't be as much mass in there sloshing the jug around--- and of course to save weight. (lol)

I was unaware there was a bottom holder; all I see is a screw that connects the jug to the side.

^ yeah me too.
I drained it completely before going to the track.

I looked on RealOEM and it looks like a socket of some sort on the bottom that it sits in.

Hmm...maybe that's where my washer fluid went. Thanks!

Just an update, I think the hose it rubs against is related to the air-conditioner.

Mine leaked around 35k miles on a long trip to the beach. Had the dealership replaced under warranty.

You have a picture of it? I looked at the jug again yesterday and I saw nothing of the sort.

I haven't checked mine yet, but the part on RealOEM looks to have some sort of tab(s) on the bottom

Yep, and those tabs sit in a bracket. The issue is those tabs get bumped out of the bracket, causing the jug to move around.

Noticed it to be loose as well. Didn't think it was an issue, will look into it more this weekend now.

Mine was loose as well, so thanks for the "heads-up". The screw (bolt?), which I believe is #8 in the post above was quite loose. I tightened it, and the amount of wiggle was greatly reduced, but not eliminated.

I'm pretty sure mine leaks, I use it twice and I have to refill it, the last time I refilled it, I haven't used it at all and it's empty now.
