PSS Fitment

Is anyone running Michelin PSS in this size on a Z4M without rubbing? I'm debating 245/275 VS 235/265. Will eventually lower car slightly and probably go with coilovers.

275/30/19 on 9.5 ET 22
245/35/19 on 8.5 ET 35

Thanks!

Just to share my own experience:

I used to have 245/275 [9.0 x 19 ET31 F, 10.0 x 19 ET25 R] on stock suspension.
245F rubbed lightly on full lock in the inner wheel well.
275R no rub

I've had to downsize to 235/265 [8.5 x 19 ET32 R, 9.5 x 19 ET28 R] with KW CS coilovers.
235F still experience light rubbing on bumpy roads;
265R no rub

I think you should be fine stock; Fitment with coilovers should be ok too but that will mostly depend on the coilovers you get.

Thanks, Mtx! I'm going with H&R coilovers. The car now has 36K, so it is probably time for new shocks, so instead, I'll just go H&R coilovers (shoutout to @finnegan for the suggestion). I have a roadster and don't plan to have it on any kind of racetrack/autox. I just want to slightly lower the car and have a comfortable suspension.

The 265/235 are backordered right now, but I think I'll just wait it out until they are back in stock.

Thanks again!

For those of you running 19x10 ET 25 on the rears with 265/30 Michelin PSS tires, do you think I could get away with running 19x10 ET 20 with 265/30 PSS. Five more millimeters to the outside edge than your current setup?

I tried my best to get accurate measurements, but it is tough measuring a curved fender well. I measured from the INSIDE of the fender to the WIDEST part of the sidewall, and I've got basically no extra space, but of course on the Contis I have, the sidewall is curved, so there is more room near the outside edge of the tire. Maybe I would have 7mm or so of extra space allowing for the smaller tread width to sidewall. I get about 12mm extra space to the OUTSIDE edge of the fender to the widest part of the sidewall. Sound about right to you guys?

265/30/19 PSS Tire to Stock
19x10 ET 20 +15MM Possible Rubbing on lowered car
19x10 ET 25 +10MM Best Fitment. No rubbing on lowered car.
19x9.5 ET 22 +13MM Possible slight rubbing with aggressive driving on lowered car. Maybe would clear barely?

275/30/19 PSS Tire to Stock
19x10 ET 20 +20MM Beyond Outer Fender
19x10 ET 25 +15MM Possible Rubbing on lowered car.
19x9.5 ET 22 +18MM Beyond Outer Fender.

Does this sound right?

The rear wheel I'm considering comes in 19x9.5 ET 22 or 19x10 ET 20. I'd rather have the 10" wheel if I can get away with it with a 265 tire. I don't want to go lower width than a 265 on a 10" tire.

I found this old post from dubsesd where he was running 19x9.5 ET 23 with 275 tires, and it's lowered, but I don't know what brand of tire he was running back then or if he used negative camber to achieve it.
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=636922

Using this calculator shows that a 19x9.5 ET 23 wheel on 275/30 tire that fit for Dubsesd's car is actually wider than a 19x10 ET 20 wheel on a 265/30 tire. So, I'm hopeful.

Man, this wheel and tire fitment is a chore. I feel like I'm back in school, and that's been a long time. I have searched and searched and studied and used tire and wheel calcs, etc.

I imagine ya'll are probably sick of tire/wheel questions. Sorry. :-( I'm late to the party, I know.

Thanks for any help.

This is a quick flyby, so I haven't dug into the data for you, but maybe this spreadsheet would offer some help?

Finnegan, that's super helpful. Thanks for posting the link. It looks like folks have 19x9.5 ET 22 running 275's with no rubbing, so in theory, a 19x10 ET 20 should work fine on 265's. I also saw a few entries with 19x10 ET 25 (probably the perfect offset) running 275, and the 19x10 ET 20 with 265's would have the same fender clearance according to this calculator:
http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

My worry is the 19x10 ET 20 will look like it is sitting beyond the fender edge.

I was measuring in poor light last night. I went back and re-measured. Original post updated with corrected values. I tried using a plumb line. It's still hard to measure accurately.

I also found out that the wheel comes in 19x10 ET 35, so I could run a 10mm spacer and have perfect fitment. Would you go 19x10 ET 25 (with spacer) or 19x9.5 ET 22 no spacer? Is a 10mm spacer an issue?

Thanks to any of our resident wheel experts.

Hey Salty,
I am by no means a wheel expert, here's a pic of my fitment of my rear tire setup: 19 X 9.5 et 25 on PSS 265/30/19. Not completely flush by any means but definitely safe. I'm dropped on Eibachs.

Thanks for sharing the photo, Deg. I was going back and forth, and with having the wheels and tires shipped to me, I couldn't take a chance on the 19x10 ET 20, even though I really wanted 10" rear wheels.

Oh well, I went with 19x9.5 on 275/30/19 PSS tires. We'll see how it works. Yours with the 25 offset look good.

In case anyone is curious, here is a 19x10 ET 20 with a 275/30/19 PSS Tire. He was getting some rubbing. In the photo, it looks like he's past the outer fender.

And here is an example of the fitment I went with, but with different wheels. Ya'll don't hate me, I went with CSLs (rep). Have always liked them and never owned a set. Maybe I'll get the wheel bug and start changing wheels every few months.

If Inspiri was available here, I might have tried the 01 wheel if there was a good fitment.

Another example of a 19x9.5 on 275/30. Dubsesd was running 19x9.5 ET 23 here. My CSL look similar, but are 19x9.5 ET 22, so very similar fitment. What's a millimeter between friends. I also plan to drop the car about 1.5", so it should look the same in the fitment area. Can't wait to get them in and get them mounted.

A little late to the party but I'm running 10" rim and offset 25 with a 275 tire, no rubbing and my rear is lowered quite a bit.
