3.0si SES at track
Service Engine Soon lit just before the cool down lap was flagged last weekend at Mid America Motorplex. No effect was seen on engine operation, and the light went away after several start/shutdown cycles (and perhaps coincidentally after refulling the gas tank-- down to about 3/8).
It was hot, around 90 degrees. Engine temps diddn't show anything out of the normal. Car continues to run fine, checked the OBD and there's a cam position faults (P0015) that won't clear (or at least not with my tool). Anyone else running the N52 engine see anything like this? I'll probably get it looked at since I'm going back to the track next week.

I'm suspecting your oil level sensor at some point, during hard cornering simply read your level as low and signaled the SES code.
I'd guess the S.I. may not have baffles such as the M engine might. |

i had the same fault, they replaced the cam sensor and problem went away, not sure if that was the culprit but i was at 64 thousand miles and was told that the sensors get tired over time, who knows. its not to exspensive around 100 bucks or so.

Story is that it's a VANOS solenoid issue-- apparently there's a bulletin on it.
Hope to have more on the story later.
